Rebranding
Rebranding is changing how a company, product or organization presents itself. Sometimes that means a new name, but more often it means a new logo, new typefaces, new colors and new rules for using them together.
Companies usually rebrand when the old identity no longer fits the business: it sells something different, it has merged with another company, it is moving into new markets, or it looks dated next to its competitors. A rebrand can be a light redraw that keeps what people already recognize, or a complete replacement.
The examples below are real projects from the gallery. Each one shows the work itself and the studio that made it, and links to the full project.

What changes in a rebrand
Most rebrands touch the same four parts. Here is what each one covers, with examples from real projects.
Logo
The logo is what most people notice first. Some rebrands redraw it and keep the shape people know. Others replace it with a new wordmark, a new symbol, or both.

Typography
A new typeface changes the voice of everything the brand writes, from headlines to app screens. Studios license an existing typeface, adapt one, or draw a custom one, then set rules for sizes and weights.

Color
An identity usually has one or two core colors and a wider supporting palette, with rules for how much of each to use and which combinations to avoid.

The system around it
Logo, type and color work together through a system of grids, icons, illustration, photography and motion. Brand guidelines write that system down so other teams can apply it the same way.
